Martin Luther King Jr. References in Bawa Jain Speaks

Martin Luther King Jr. is referenced in both episodes 3 and 4 of Bawa Jain Speaks Exclusively with Elite. In either episode, you can get a good lesson about race in America in the recent past as well as a lesson about peace and non-violence.

South African leader Nelson Mandela exemplifies peace and non-violence in this encounter that Bawa had with him. His encounter is also funny and unexpected, which teaches us something about his character. Getting such a personal point of view on what happens behind the scenes with the world’s leaders is rare and this episode definitely delivers on that front.

Sometimes you have to be “off-color” to catch a person’s attention is what really stands out to me about Bawa’s story with President Clinton. But, Bawa goes deeper than that referencing his remedy to President Clinton to recover from his fall from grace. I believe President Clinton heard Bawa’s message loud and clear and reacted appropriately to stand up for a cause that gave purpose back to his life.

The best part about all the encounters in this series is that they are multi-layered with depth and meaning about history and they occurred during a period of time when the people at the very top of the world in terms of influence, were suddenly stuck in their homes with the rest of us, trying to figure out what went wrong and where we could possibly go from here.

To learn from the past to move toward a better future.
